TITANIUM BACKERS
different grade posts - different fit





Hand formed posts are made from Grade 1 Titanium wire. BEORE using a new Titanium backer on your handmade posts, slightly open the wings, using the 20GA tool (wire) provided. This will prevent the backer from bending the post when putting on, especially the longer posts.


NOTE: I adjust the backers before shipping out an order, UNLESS machine milled (grade 2) or Niobium posts are included in the same order or have been ordered previously...in that case, I include a tool.


GRADES OF TITANIUM SIMPLIFIED

Pre-stretch backers for Grade 1 posts



Stretch on tool provided or stretch on a Grade 2 ball post before using.



~ EXCLUSIVE FEATURE ~



Grooves/notches are added to Grade 1 Titanium posts and Niobium posts, making metal backers an option.


NO SPECIAL ADJUSTMENT IS NEEDED FOR GRADE 2 TITANIUM POSTS OR NIOBIUM POSTS





Grade 2 Titanium posts are machine milled from solid bar and HARD...they will not bend! Other than making tension adjustments when the backers loosen up, no additional care is needed.


ADJUSTING TENSION ON BACKERS



Niobium 2MM DOT posts are 21GA, slightly smaller than the 20GA Titanium Posts. Other than making tension adjustments when the backers loosen up, no additional care is needed.

NOTE: Generally, Niobium Posts do not offer the option of wearing Titanium backers...they do not have the groove to lock in the backer.



I include appropriate earring backers with every earring purchase.

To prevent loss, your backers should be checked every time you put your earrings on, to make sure that they still fit tightly.
